My parents sacrificed the life they had built in Cuba in order for their children and future grandchildren to live freely. All during my school years my parents always stressed the importance of education believing that it was the best way to become self-reliant and build a life for yourself. But I believe that our education system has declined over the decades and especially in the last 10 years. When my eldest grandchild was nearing school age I decided that I needed to get involved in the education system. That is my way of honoring the sacrifice that my parents made. That is why I am running for Noblesville School Board, not only for my grandchildren but for all of our children and grandchildren.
